Apocalyptic Adventure

The loading of people to the transports has begun and the planet will begin to self-destruct at any time. Crowds of people are frantically trying to get on the shuttles and it's a controlled mayhem. My friends and i say "fuck it" and get on our mini-bikes/scooters and take off through the city. We decide to take our chances with fate and challenge the "end of the world" scenario. If it's true, we die, if it's bullshit, we'll have a planet mostly depopulated and able to clean itself up once the parasites are mostly gone.

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, if i'm going to die (apparently the Earth is going to burn up) i'd rather it be over quickly. On the other hand, i'd like to see how things turn out (even if that means staying until the final burn).

As we're riding our scooters through the city, the city is crumbling around us. Under overpasses large chunks of road fall and i'm considering slowing down and being crushed and instantly killed by the falling cement thinking it would be quick and instantaneous. A couple on a scooter next to me are crushed and another scooter a few yards ahead is barely missed by a large chunk. I keep riding fast and decide that once we get out of the city and its falling hazards, it will be less hectic so i decide to live and keep riding, assuming chance will either crush me or i'll escape to where the skies are clear.

We're outside the city and the countryside is just empty grassland with mounds of rubbish. We abandon our scooters and begin walking. There's about a dozen of us - mostly young (my age but in the dream that's probably late 20's), male and female. Some are strangers to each other but we're still a "team" working together.

We come to a place where the ground is wavy mounds and looks like the walking wouldn't be too difficult. Some of the group start to walk into that and i'm concerned that if the earth quakes those mounds will split and become jagged, making it a very hazardous journey. The group talks about it and decides to stay on the road a while longer.

A sub-division of ranch-style houses is directly ahead and we another small group of people making their way in the same direction we're going but already within the streets of the neighborhood. These are other people that either missed or chose not to board the shuttles. Depending on the circumstance, they may be satisfied with chance or they may be fearful of dying and my group is considering how to approach.

The space ships are filling the sky, leaving Earth and it's becoming noticeably drier and hotter but we keep moving forward. The two groups decide to merge and continue forward together to continue to get as far from settled areas as we can, thinking that when we get to where it's pure Mother Nature the green grass and trees will cool us.
