I felt the sabre-tooth jump up on my bed as he often does in the morning. I distinctly felt his weight jump up onto the bed, and then i felt as he walked along the edge to near my head on the pillow. Just like normal. But then he walked back down to the foot of my bed and i heard him 'hiss' then.... nothing.
I'd been on sleeping on my side so i turned over onto my back because i no longer sensed him on the bed and wondered what had alarmed him enough to make him hiss because he rarely ever does.
Once on my back i saw a large square of sky outside of my ceiling. Dark blue and full of stars. It was like i imagine looking up through the hold of an old ship into a clear night sky would be. The ceiling was a dark rough hewn wood. Even as i was noticing how incredibly beautiful a shade of blue the sky was, the ceiling (the dark planks of wood instead of my regular white ceiling), began to fold up upon itself like a puzzle box, closing. Once it was closed the ceiling was just plain white again.
I looked towards my bedroom door to see if the cat had really been in my room, the door was closed (but not latched) so i knew that the he hadn't been in my room and the entire sensation of the cat on the bed and hissing was a dream.
The sky part was unique. I've never had that experience and i wonder if i could have left my body to go out among those stars. Astral projection. Or perhaps it was the coming back to my body that created the sensation of movement on the bed and the closing of space behind me? It was pretty great and i hope i can figure out how to make that happen again.
