I’m in a neighborhood but it’s not one i’m familiar with.
The houses are very large mansions. I’m walking on the sidewalk with ?? and the
houses are well off the road behind lush manicured lawns and shrubbery so i can’t
really see them in detail. I notice the
entrance to an exceptionally large house on the other side of the street and i’m
immediately drawn to it because of the very large moving sculpture along the
edge of the front property line next to the mailbox. The sculpture is placed in a pool of gravel
and i’m reminded of a Japanese garden. As i approach the sculpture and watch
the large octopus-like tendrils rotate slowly and gracefully, i realize it’s a
clock! There’s a smallish clock face near the top showing the analog time. The
machine appears to be made of bicycle parts. The tendrils are over-sized bike
chain. The clock is the toothed gear, about 10 inches in diameter. The entire
grace and beauty of this “clock” sculpture pleases me and lifts my spirits. I
leave to return ?home and i’m riding a bicycle up a black top road that runs
through an upscale neighborhood (maybe the same one) but none of the houses are
visible from the road. All along this road are men (carpenters) working on building.
Saw-horses with sheets of plywood or board being cut with circular saws. I have
to continue to my destination ahead, but am pleased to see all of the active
building going on along the road. Sunday, October 7, 2012
